Ralph Lauren To Receive WWD’s First Ever John B Fairchild Honor

The editors of WWD have chosen designer Ralph Lauren to honor with the first-ever John B. Fairchild Honor.
Back in May, it was announced that an annual event commending and celebrating fashion industry influencers called WWD Honors, will kick off on Oct. 25. Lauren’s presentation with the debut accolade will be the “cornerstone of the latest initiative in this franchise’s 116-year-old history” — AKA the fall event — according to WWD.
The award is named after the late Mr. Fairchild, who revamped Women’s Wear Daily from a humdrum trade publication to the current robust news source. He was WWD’s publisher and editor-in-chief from 1960 to 1996 and sadly passed away in February 2015 at the age of 87.
The recipients of other honors for the upcoming ceremony will be revealed at a later date.
The WWD Honors event will happen during the company’s 2016 CEO Summit at The Pierre hotel in New York. The Summit program will continue into Oct. 26 and is one component of the trade publication’s Fairchild Summits & Events series. Read more at Fashion Times.
