Judi Dench and Dustin Hoffman Nominated For International Emmys

Oscar winners Dustin Hoffman and Judi Dench will compete in the best actor and actress categories at this year’s International Emmy Awards.
Nominations recognizing productions from 15 countries were announced Monday by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The 40 nominees, competing across 10 categories, come from the U.S., Canada, Britain, France, Germany, South Africa, Sweden, United Arab Emirates, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Singapore, Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia.
“The International Emmy competition is the pinnacle for recognizing excellence in television around the world,” said Bruce L. Paisner, president and CEO of the International Academy. “We congratulate the 2016 nominees and welcome them to our global stage.”
Hoffman and Dench were both nominated for Endor Productions’ “Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot.” The television movie, based on Dahl’s 1990 novel, premiered in Britain on the BBC on New Year’s Day in 2015.
